What is ABA and how does it help kids with Autism?
If you have an autistic kid and are looking to know more about ABA Therapy, we’re excited to tell you about ABA and what we do at ABLE to help kids and families. Let’s dive in!
What is ABA?
ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis. It’s a special type of therapy that helps kids learn skills to make everyday life easier and more fun.
We use ABA to teach important things like:
- Talking and communicating.
- Making friends and playing with others.
- Following directions and focusing on tasks.
- Learning daily routines like brushing teeth or getting dressed.
The best part? ABA is customized for every child. Each kid is unique, so we create a plan that’s just right for them.
How Does ABA Work?
Think of ABA like solving a puzzle. We break big goals into smaller, easier steps. Each time a child masters a step, we cheer them on and help them move to the next one.
For example:
If a child wants to learn how to say “help,” we’ll practice it in fun ways and celebrate when they try. Little successes add up to big wins!
What Do We Do at ABLE?
At ABLE, we provide ABA therapy in places where kids feel comfortable and can learn best:
